…The story of a hummingbird rescuing a flower from a summer snow was created in a few days after a hail like snow crushed all our flowers in the garden. As one hummingbird was still circling around the most beautiful blossom, I immediately ran to my studio and grabbed my brush to play with my paints…

The Summer Snow
Clouds move for miles as I draw on them with leftover grass By the pond again I will sit and wait for someone to pet me
Diving face down off the cloud and leaving each inch of white I smell the aspen stumps behind the shedding birch trees
Jumping from one air atom to another and seeing myself on
top of myself I breathe a different breath I have never smelled before
Flipping over the earth pages I go round and around and it takes forever to find the white in any other color
While the wind makes me breathe I am like a flashlight in the light day flashing the blankets all tangled up into a braid draped over fences
When I hum there now by the pond rescuing the blossoms from the summer snow I release a droplet of lukewarm water stuck on my eyelids Suddenly I feel someone petting me.
